Think & Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich BookNapoleon Hill

I have quite a good library of books that I refer back to, so I brought out Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill recently.  This book is one of the most influential books of all time.  It is amazing the information we read, but then forget over time.  So, I am thoroughly enjoying taking my time and reading this fabulous book again.

Think and Grow Rich is a 1937 motivational personal development and self-help book by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. Wikipedia
One of the things that helps differentiate us is our persistence when we are absolutely hellbent on achieving our goal.  Darren Hardy (Success Magazine) talks about your reason ‘Why’ and it really is all about the power of thought.  Which is the name of the first chapter in Think and Grow Rich.
We sometimes think we can achieve our goals in a short period of time, but many years can pass, as everything is about timing.  When Edwin C. Barnes decided that he wanted more than anything in the world to be a business partner with Thomas Edison, he worked religiously towards making that happen.  His burning desire took many years to manifest but psychologists do say that when you are truly ready for something, it will put in an appearance.  If you think about the story of Edwin C. Barnes, there will have been times that he must have considered changing direction and having an easier life, but he did not.  He stayed on the same path, he did jobs that were unimportant to Edison but Barnes waited for the correct opportunity to present itself and he pounced.  That opportunity was the Edison Dictating Machine, Barnes saw the opportunity and he went on to make millions for himself.
If you believe in your goal or dream, you can make it happen.
